You gotta have a fence. That's what our neighbor Louie had to do. This is the Louie who has lived in his house since 1935. When his wife wants something, she yells out into the yard LOUIE! and he screams WHAT?!

They ate my birdfeeder. Seeds, wood and all then moved onto my garbage cans.

By the way, I think you should invest in an old-school gatling gun. Preferably WWI vintage.
Oh, and forgot to mention this, I've used this product, Deer Off near my plants, that seems to keep the critters away and it doesn't do them or the plants any harm.
