Deep Massage

I'm a couple of hours away from finishing up my last 2 hours of internship--WooT!
We've begun second semester this week--had an intro night from the head of the school on Tuesday, and yesterday we had our first practical classes. Deep massage (as I discovered) is about addressing deep layers of muscle-- it is short, sweet and to the point. Some of the techniques look like "psychic surgery", with hands seeming to disappear into the tissues. I'd never received a deep tissue session-- it was a bit intense, but I can report that the pain in my lower back is gone.
I heard from a classmate yesterday that spas are a bit desperate for therapists, raising the hope that I may be able to escape from the psychiatric facility before next November.
In other news, Mr. Bigglesworth (hairless, likes to be petted) and I continue to bond. We spend several hours each day playing together. It's been so bloody long since I've felt playful, I wasn't sure I still had it in me.
It's good having hands. Give yours some love!

Contact Juggling/ SpherePlay

I gave myself a gift for getting through the first semester of masage school-- a 3" acrylic sphere I've named "Mr. Bigglesworth"
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us I've been fascinated with Contact Juggling or "SpherePlay" ever since the 80's. Now after 20 years of patience, I have the resources to learn this groovy skill.

If I could be a video game designer I would create a game that made nurturing more fun than shooting people. You would be rewarded with the pleasure of your own choosing for pro-social caring deeds.

If I could be a movie director I would cast my friend Kim Scott as Harriet Tubman, chief engineer of the “underground railroad” during the civil war. It is a true story of a truly heroic woman, the events of her life unfold like the best script you EVER read, it’s Roots, it’s Rocky, it’s The Color Purple and Mcgyver all rolled into one….and Kim is an amazing actress—she gets steady work, but nothing worthy of her talents, sadly.

If I could be a bonnie pirate I wouldn’t have far to go to adapt. I have my own cutlass and a couple of cool piratey shirts and some bucket boots left over from my days as a photographer. I know port from starboard (better than right and left, oddly), have the requisite longhair and bad teeth, and am comfortable with having an animal perched on my shoulder, be it parrot, monkey or cat. I would be known as “ the terribly charming scourge of the seven seas, really, he was just so polite I didn’t mind being robbed and kidnapped at all”.

If I could be an assassin, broadcast journalists who used the word “jealous” when the correct word would have been “envious” would dwindle sharply. Not to mention advertising executives who prey upon the insecurities of people to sell needless crap, and those who misuse the media’s potential to uplift, rather than lowering the lowest common denominator. And people who construct meandering loose sentences………….oops!

If I could be a saint, none of that would bother me.

Who to pass this one to?
